CHICAGO YOUTH PERFORMERS INCREASE THE PEACE THROUGH PERFORMING ARTS AT
THE 7 TH ANNUAL THIS IS LIFE YOUTH TALENT SHOWCASE & RESOURCE EXPO
CHICAGO, IL. January 14, 2020– This is Life (TIL) 501(c)3 is happy to announce “The 7 th annual

This Is Life Youth Talent Showcase & Resource Expo” which kicks off Saturday March 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm with an insightful keynote speech by Mario Cannon, Empire Actor and owner of Anytime Fitness. This year’s most anticipated youth led showcase is hosted by Power 92 FM media personality Rodney Washington also known as “Hot Rod” and offers a special gymnastic performance by the Jesse White Tumblers for the expected 200 supporters of Chicago’s at-risk youth.

“This is Life” was created seven years ago by King College Prep 12th grade student and performing artist, Dorian Adams (D.A.), with the purpose to offer a platform to showcase the talents of Chicago youth as well as provide resources for families seeking solutions to the constant issue of violence in their communities.

During this event Chicago youth artists and group participants will shed a positive light on
the city by displaying their artistic gifts to inspire positive attitudes toward youth led movements to increase the peace. The event takes place, Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 1pm-4pm in the Englewood community at The Salvation Army Adele and Robert Stern Red Shield Center located at 945 W 69th St, Chicago, IL 60621.

The main purpose of TIL is to provide youth with a safe environment to develop their creative
strengths, build genuine relationships, expand their fan base, and shift the media’s focus of
Chicago’s youth from defeated to optimistic. In previous years, the “This is Life” movement has garnered hip hop artist Nia Kay, performing artist Lil Kemo and progressed from a single song, to producing a series of events highlighting thousands of national and local youth artists as well the development of a Chicago themed clothing line.
All of the proceeds from this event go towards supporting the “This Is Life” organization which is a tax exempt organization. Donations will assist with our annual back to school give a ways, winter toy drives, seasonal City tour trips and more. For more information, please visit www.thisislifechi.org for more details on how to support the cause and positively impact one youth at a time.
